The project «Europe takes a breath» began in September 2019, lasted until August 2022 (due to the Covid-19 pandemic the project duration was extended for one year) and included five countries: Poland as coordinator, alongside Greece, Spain, Italy, and North Macedonia as partner countries.
The project had an environmental
focus and included short-term exchange activities (physical and virtual
mobilities), workshops, training, and dissemination. Its main goal was to
raise students' awareness of nature protection and its rational exploitation,
with an emphasis on clean air. The students first studied the threats of modern
civilization to the environment and then proposed ways to deal with them. They
gained knowledge of environmental issues and improved communication and
cooperation skills in an international environment.
Within the project, teachers and students from each partner
school observed, studied, and explored ways of
dealing with and overcoming air pollution, environmental degradation, and
methods counteracting these phenomena.
Teachers and students shared
their gained knowledge and experience with their colleagues and classmates about
the impact of pollution on soil quality, water, air, and living organisms,
and will continue to encourage students to reduce the causes of destructive human activity and their effects
(e.g. smog, acid rain, greenhouse effect, ozone hole)
and to develop strategies that will affect the consciousness of the
new generation.
